Determination of optimal quantiles and days of the year (critical DOY) on which quantiles of phase-specific temperature sums are exceeded

Source

https://github.com/EMRAgit/fPHASE/blob/master/function/fDoyCrit.R

Parameters

  • TEMP.PHENO -> result from function fTeffSum
  • PHASE -> DWD phase ID
  • PLANT -> DWD crop type ID
  • YEAR -> year of observation
  • OUT.DIR -> directory of filtering result
  • Q1 -> start of the quantile intervall
  • Q2 -> end of the quantitle intervall
  • F.STD=1.5 -> standard deviation interval (default = 1.5)

Output

  • OPT[PLANT]-[PHASE]_[YEAR]_FSTD[XX].csv -> quantile specific accuracy metrics for every standard deviation filtering variant

    • Q -> quantile
    • COR -> Pearson correlation coefficient between observed and critical (filtered) DOYs
    • RMSE -> Root Mean Square Error between between observed and critical (filtered) DOYs
    • MAE -> Mean Absolute Error between between observed and critical (filtered) DOYs
    • SN -> Station number
  • DOY[PLANT]-[PHASE]_[YEAR]_FSTD[F.STD].shp -> Shape file of phase-specific daily temperatures and temperature sums

    • GRID_ID -> raster cell ID related to WEATHER_GRID_EPSG31467.shp
    • LON -> Longitude (EPSG 4326)
    • LAT -> Latitude (EPSG 4326)
    • STATION_ID -> ID of a phenological observation station
    • YEAR -> year of observation
    • PHASE -> DWD phase ID
    • PLANT -> DWD crop type ID
    • DATE -> date of a beginning phenological phase
    • DOY -> day of the year of a beginning phenological phase
    • DOY_start -> starting DOY, from which temperature sums are calculated
    • T[1:365] -> daily temperatures [°C x 10] of the year of harvest
    • T[-X:-1] -> only for winter crops: daily temperatures [°C x 10] of the year of sowing (-X=DOY-365) beginning with the DOY of sowing
    • T_SUMS -> phase- and station-specific temperature sums
    • DOY_PHASE -> DOY on which the effective temperature sum quantile is exceeded
