Review Tasks

In order to deal with web generated content there needs to be a way to vett/approve or reject content that comes in from the web. To ensure that we can track what has been web generated we have meta-data associated with the content that has been generated using the web site.

The “Review” pulldown menu provides an interface to review lexical elements using several different strategies:

  • Process Web Submission - The process web submissions task enables the higher level users to evaluate and status content that has been generated on the web to determine if it should be added to the core lexicon by approving or rejecting proposed additions to the lexicon.
  • Process Comments - The process comments task enables the user to track and status comments by
  • Replying to the comments and then changing the state of the comment to resolve or allow continuing discussion on the comment.
  • Discuss Domains - The discuss domains task allows users to discuss the appropriateness of assigning words to various semantic domains
  • Recent progress - the recent progress tasks enables users to look at recent changes to the database to then review and comment on those changes.

Some questions relative to this task include the following: Should we allow comments to be assigned to a person (Like ParaTExt) so that there is a default person assigned to look at a comment or a web submission and then as someone goes through the process of processing comments or accepting web submissions they could ask someone on the project to review a comment or web submission to vet it or resolve it.

Process Comments

We do not currently have a very comprehensive commenting strategy in place for lexicons. As a result we will be exploring strategies for the process of commenting in the Web app.

The process comments task allows the user to evaluate and then change the state of all of the comments that people have made on fields. In order to do this the user will be given filtered access to web created lexical content. In order to enable support for the approval process the following steps will be taken:

  • The user will be presented with a view that takes them to the comment review tab.

  • They will see all fields that are have been commented on and are not yet in a “Resolved” state that need to be “Resolved”
