Media: Data Visualisation

Brief description

"Data Visualisation" media type can be used to display graphs/data visualisations generated by the DVF module.

The data source options are: CKAN/Data.gov.au, CSV File/URL, JSON File/URL.

The graph display options are:

• Bar chart (x & y axis can be flipped to make a column chart)
• Line Chart
• Spline chart
• Scatter plot
• Gauge plot

Detailed description

To add new "Data Visualisation" media:

• Go to Content → Media → Add Media → Data Visualisation
• Name: Enter the media name.
• Image: Upload an image, the image will be used as a thumbnail when browsing the media. It will not be displayed in the front end.
• Data Source:
  • Choose one of the available data sources.
    • CSV File
    • CSV URL
    • JSON File
    • JSON URL
    • CKAN URL
  • Enter the URL or Upload a file for the selected data source.
  • Select one of the visualisation style.
  • Configure the Data settings. There is a help page link available for each of the data settings.
• Add a caption(optional)
• Add an accessible description (optional)

The Data Visualisation can be added to the page using the Component Media or embed the Media entity from the rich text editor.
