FS25_UsedPlus.zipfrom the release page - Place the ZIP file (or extracted folder) in your mods folder:
-
Windows:
Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\mods\ -
Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/FarmingSimulator2025/mods/
-
Windows:
- Launch the game and enable the mod in the mod selection screen
- Start your save - UsedPlus will initialize automatically
Important: Keep either the ZIP file OR the extracted folder, not both!
Check these common issues:
-
Wrong location: Make sure the file is in the
modsfolder, not a subfolder -
File structure: If extracted, verify
modDesc.xmlis in the root of the folder - Name conflicts: If you have an older version, delete it first
-
Log file: Check
log.txtfor errors mentioning "UsedPlus"
Minimum item price: Search Used only appears for vehicles/equipment worth $10,000 or more. Small tools and consumables use the standard shop.
Shop override disabled: If another mod conflicts, you may have disabled "Override Shop Buy/Lease" in Settings. Check ESC > Settings > UsedPlus and ensure it's enabled.
BuyUsedEquipment installed: If you have BUE (BuyUsedEquipment) mod installed, UsedPlus hides its Search button to avoid duplication.
Yes! UsedPlus can be added to existing saves. You'll start with a credit score of 650 (Fair) and can build from there. All your existing vehicles and land remain unchanged.
Not recommended mid-game! If you have active finance deals, leases, or searches, removing the mod will cause issues.
If you must remove it:
- Pay off or cancel all active deals in Finance Manager
- Cancel all active searches
- Save your game
- Remove the mod
- New game: 650 (Fair)
- Existing save: 650 (Fair) when mod is first added
Common reasons:
| Event | Credit Impact |
|---|---|
| Missed payment | -45 points |
| Asset seized (3 missed payments) | -175 points (vehicle) |
| High debt-to-asset ratio | Ongoing penalty |
Tip: Set payment reminders! Monthly payments happen automatically on the 1st of each month.
| Action | Credit Impact |
|---|---|
| Make on-time payments | +2 points per payment (base) |
| Pay off loan early | +15 points |
| Reduce debt-to-asset ratio | Gradual improvement |
| Avoid missed payments | Prevent -25 penalty |
Strategy: Start with small loans, pay them on time, build history over 12+ months.
Credit gate: Vehicle financing terms are credit-gated as of v2.7.0:
| Term Length | Minimum Credit Required |
|---|---|
| 1-5 years | Any credit (300+) |
| 6-10 years | Fair credit (650+) |
| 11-15 years | Good credit (700+) |
Solution: Build your credit score to 700+ to unlock longer terms, or choose a shorter term.
Credit gate: Land financing requires good credit for maximum terms:
| Term Length | Minimum Credit Required |
|---|---|
| 5-10 years | Any credit (300+) |
| 15 years | Fair credit (650+) |
| 20 years | Good credit (700+) |
Credit-based down payment requirements (v2.7.1):
| Credit Score | Minimum Down Payment |
|---|---|
| Excellent (750+) | 0% |
| Good (700-749) | 5% |
| Fair (650-699) | 10% |
| Poor (600-649) | 20% |
| Very Poor (<600) | 25% |
Solution: Build credit to reduce down payment requirements, or save more cash.
Yes, but with consequences:
- Skip payment option: Available in Deal Details dialog (Payment Configuration)
- Negative amortization: Your balance grows (interest is added to principal)
- Credit impact: -45 points
- Risk: After 3 consecutive missed payments, the asset is seized and you lose an additional -100 points
Use carefully! Skip is for emergencies, not regular practice.
Asset seizure:
- Vehicle or land is repossessed
- You lose the asset with no refund
- Credit score drops -100 points
- Remaining balance is forgiven (you don't owe the money anymore)
Prevention: Use "Minimum Payment" option (interest-only) if you're short on cash. It's better than missing completely.
- Open Finance Manager (ESC Menu or Shift+F)
- Select the deal from the list
- Click "View Details"
- Click "Pay Off Early"
- Confirm the payoff amount
- Bonus: +50 credit score points!
No prepayment penalty - the payoff amount is just remaining principal plus accrued interest.
Yes! As of v2.10.0, you can finance ANY placeable including:
- Sheds and silos
- Animal pens and pastures
- Production buildings
- Decorations and infrastructure
- ALL placeable categories
This is a first-of-its-kind feature in the FS25 modding community!
Building financing has stricter requirements than vehicle financing:
- Credit Score: 750+ (Excellent credit required)
- Down Payment: 20% of purchase price
- Term Length: 1-20 years
- Interest Rate: Based on your credit score (same rates as vehicles)
Buildings are long-term infrastructure investments that significantly improve your farm's value and capability. Lenders require proven financial responsibility (Excellent credit) before financing major property improvements.
How to reach 750+ credit:
- Make 60+ on-time payments (5 years of perfect payment history)
- Maintain a streak of 24+ consecutive on-time payments
- No missed payments in recent history
- Open the Construction menu (default: P key)
- Select any building/placeable
- Position the ghost and confirm placement (left-click)
- NEW: Finance dialog appears: "How do you want to pay?"
- Choose Finance or Cash
- Review terms and confirm
- Building is placed immediately!
At Purchase:
- You pay the 20% down payment immediately
- A loan is created for the remaining 80%
- Building is placed and fully functional right away
- Monthly payments begin next billing cycle
Example:
- Building cost: $50,000
- Down payment (20%): $10,000 paid today
- Financed amount: $40,000
- Monthly payment: ~$850/month for 5 years
No, buildings cannot be leased. Only Cash or Finance options are available for placeables. Leasing is only available for vehicles and equipment.
If you don't have enough money for the 20% down payment, the finance option won't be available. You'll need to save up cash or take out a general loan first (if you have collateral).
When you sell a financed building:
- Sale proceeds go to pay off the remaining loan balance
- Any remaining money after payoff goes to you
- The loan is removed from your Finance Manager
- You receive a notification showing the payoff amount
Example:
- Building worth: $45,000
- Loan balance: $35,000
- You receive: $10,000 ($45,000 - $35,000)
Check these common causes:
-
Credit too low: You need 750+ credit for building financing
- Check Finance Manager (Ctrl+F) → Credit Report tab
- If below 750, the dialog won't show and you'll see a notification explaining why
-
Can't afford down payment: You need 20% upfront
- Example: $50,000 building requires $10,000 down payment
- If your balance is too low, finance option unavailable
-
Mod conflict: Another mod might be interfering
- Check log.txt for errors mentioning "UsedPlus" or "BuyPlaceableData"
- Disable other shop/construction mods to test
-
Override disabled: Check Settings
- Go to ESC > Settings > UsedPlus
- Ensure "Override Shop Buy/Lease" is enabled
Yes! Open Finance Manager (Ctrl+F), select the building loan, and use the Pay Off Loan button. You'll save on interest by paying off early.
You can also increase monthly payments (2x, 3x, 5x multiplier) to pay down the principal faster and shorten the loan term.
Agent-based search system:
- Open shop, select a vehicle/equipment ($10k+ value)
- Click "Search Used" button
- Choose agent tier: Local, Regional, or National
- Pay the agent fee (2%, 4%, or 6% of base price)
- Wait 1-6 months (game time) for results
- Agent finds vehicles and adds them to your portfolio
- Browse found vehicles in Finance Manager > Used Vehicles
Common reasons:
- Search still active: Check "Searches" section in Finance Manager - it may still be running
- Search expired: Searches have a TTL (time to live). If it expires before finding anything, you'll get a notification
- Search cancelled: Check if you accidentally cancelled it
- Agent tier: Local agents have 85% success rate. Try Regional (90%) or National (95%) for better results
Tip: National agents have the highest success rate and find the best quality equipment.
Used vehicles aren't always cheaper! Pricing factors:
- Agent tier: National agents find higher-quality (more expensive) equipment
- Condition: Excellent condition = higher price
- Low hours/damage: Well-maintained equipment commands premium prices
- Depreciation discount: Used vehicles are 5-40% off retail, depending on condition
Strategy: Use Local agents for budget equipment (25-40% off but lower condition), or National agents for premium equipment (5-20% off but excellent condition).
Yes! As of v2.7.0, inspection is time-delayed:
Three Inspection Tiers:
| Tier | Cost | Time | What You Learn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick Glance | $1,000 + 2% (max $2,500) | 2 hours | Overall rating only |
| Standard | $2,000 + 3% (max $5,000) | 6 hours | Full reliability + parts |
| Comprehensive | $4,000 + 5% (max $10,000) | 12 hours | Everything + DNA hint |
How it works:
- Agent finds vehicle → preview dialog opens
- Click "Request Inspection" and choose tier
- Pay inspection fee
- Wait X game hours
- Notification pops up when complete: "Inspection Complete - View Report"
- Review full report before deciding to buy
Tip: Comprehensive inspection reveals the mechanic's quote about vehicle DNA (lemon vs workhorse hint)!
Quick Glance (Cheapest, Fastest):
- Overall reliability rating
- Mechanic's recommendation (buy/pass)
Standard (Recommended):
- Everything in Quick Glance PLUS:
- Component health (engine, electrical, hydraulic)
- Fluid levels and leak detection
- RVB parts status (if RVB installed)
- Tire conditions
Comprehensive (Premium):
- Everything in Standard PLUS:
- Mechanic's DNA quote - hints if it's a lemon or workhorse!
- Estimated repair costs
- Post-repair resale value projection
Strategy: Use Standard for most purchases. Use Comprehensive if you suspect it might be a workhorse (firm seller, high price) and want DNA confirmation.
No. Used vehicle purchases require cash payment in full at the time of purchase. This is intentional design.
Workaround: If you need financing:
- Decline the used vehicle
- Buy the equivalent new vehicle from the shop using Finance option
- Trade in your old vehicle for instant cash if needed
Time limits: Each search has a TTL (Time To Live):
| Agent Tier | Search Duration |
|---|---|
| Local | 1-2 months |
| Regional | 2-4 months |
| National | 3-6 months |
If the agent doesn't find a vehicle by the end date, the search expires and you get a notification.
Agent fee is non-refundable - they did search, just didn't find a match.
Game time, not real time! Inspections take game hours, not real-world time.
- Quick: 2 game hours
- Standard: 6 game hours
- Comprehensive: 12 game hours
Check progress: Open Finance Manager > Used Vehicles > Select listing. It shows "X hours remaining."
Tip: Use timescale mod or sleep to advance time faster if you're impatient!
Three methods:
| Method | Return | Time | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trade-In | 50-65% | Instant | During purchase dialog |
| Local Agent | 60-75% | 1-2 months | Map > Click Vehicle > Sell |
| Regional Agent | 75-90% | 2-4 months | Map > Click Vehicle > Sell |
| National Agent | 90-100% | 3-6 months | Map > Click Vehicle > Sell |
Best return: National agent (but you wait 3-6 months) Fastest: Trade-in (but you get 50-65% value)
Common blockers:
- Vehicle is financed: Pay off the loan first, or wait until lease ends
- Vehicle is leased: You don't own it - must return or buy out lease first
- Vehicle is being restored: Service Truck is working on it (wheels removed, immobilized)
Financed vehicles: You can't sell an asset you don't fully own. Pay off the balance in Finance Manager first.
During any purchase:
- In Unified Purchase Dialog, click "Trade-In Vehicle"
- Select vehicle from your fleet
- Trade-in value is applied as instant cash toward purchase
- Old vehicle disappears immediately
Trade-in value formula:
- Base: 50-65% of vanilla sell price (credit-dependent)
- Brand loyalty: +5% if same manufacturer
- Condition penalty: Damage and wear reduce value
Tip: Fix major damage before trading in! Repair costs are often less than the value hit from trading in damaged equipment.
Trading in a John Deere for another John Deere gives you +5% extra trade-in value.
Example:
- Base trade-in: $30,000
- Brand match: +$1,500 (5%)
- Total: $31,500
Condition matters! Trade-in value is affected by:
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Damage | -30% max (e.g., 50% damage = -15% value) |
| Wear | -20% max (e.g., 50% wear = -10% value) |
| Operating hours | Slight penalty for high hours |
| Age | Slight penalty for old equipment |
Fix before trading: Repairing to 100% before trade-in often recovers more value than the repair cost.
Workshop/Config screen bug (fixed v2.8.0): If you had the workshop or shop config screen open, it could show the vehicle even after sale.
Solutions:
- Close all menus (ESC spam)
- Save and reload
- Update to v2.8.0+ (includes automatic close before sale)
Yes!
- Open Finance Manager (Shift+F)
- Go to "Active Sales" tab
- Select the listing
- Click "Cancel Listing"
Note: Agent fees are non-refundable. You paid for their marketing service, even if you cancel early.
As of v2.6.0, you can negotiate used vehicle prices:
- Agent finds vehicle and inspection completes
- Click "Make Offer" in preview dialog
- See Mechanic's Whisper - hints about seller personality
- Choose offer percentage: 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, or 100%
- Seller responds: Accept, Counter, or Reject
Weather matters! Storm/rain/hail increase acceptance chances.
Your mechanic shares intel about the seller's psychology before you make an offer.
Examples:
- "Between you and me... they seem pretty eager to sell." → Desperate seller, lowball freely
- "They've priced it fair and know exactly what it's worth." → Firm seller, stay above 90%
- "This seller knows exactly what they have." → Immovable seller, don't even try to lowball
- "Plus, with that storm rolling in, they might want to close quick." → Weather bonus active!
Read this carefully! It's your biggest hint about how low you can go.
Immovable sellers (v2.6.2): Workhorses (DNA 0.80+) are often owned by immovable sellers.
- Accept threshold: 98%+ of asking price
- Will NOT counter - just reject
- 90% chance to walk away permanently on lowballs
Why? They know they have a reliable machine. They're not desperate.
Strategy: If the whisper says "knows what they have" - pay asking price or close to it. That premium is often worth it for a workhorse!
Lowballing too hard causes permanent rejection (v2.6.2):
| Gap Below Threshold | Result |
|---|---|
| 0-5% below | Always counter (safe) |
| 5-10% below | Usually counter, small reject chance |
| 10-15% below | 50/50 counter vs reject |
| 15-20% below | Usually reject |
| >20% below | Permanent walk-away - listing gone forever! |
Example: Offering 70% to a firm seller (92% threshold) = 22% below = Insulted = Permanent loss!
Warning message: "Your offer insulted the seller. This vehicle is no longer available."
Bad weather makes sellers anxious:
| Weather | Acceptance Bonus |
|---|---|
| Hail | +12% |
| Storm | +8% |
| Rain/Snow | +5% |
| Fog | +3% |
| Cloudy | +2% |
| Clear/Sunny | -3% |
Strategy: Wait for a storm to negotiate! The seller will be more flexible.
Example:
- Reasonable seller (85% threshold)
- Storm weather (+8%)
- Adjusted threshold: 77%
- Offer 80% → Accept! (was 5% below, now 3% above adjusted)
After a counter-offer, you have 3 options:
- Accept Counter - Pay the counter price (safe)
- Stand Firm - Refuse to budge on your original offer (risky gamble!)
- Walk Away - End negotiation, listing goes back to portfolio
Stand Firm outcomes:
- 30% - Seller accepts your original offer (you win!)
- 50% - Seller holds firm on counter (stalemate, can retry later)
- 20% - Seller walks away permanently (you lose vehicle!)
Tip: Only Stand Firm if you're willing to lose the vehicle. It's a gamble.
v2.9.1 fix: Clicking "Walk Away" from a REJECT response now applies a 30-minute cooldown (negotiation lock).
If the gap was >20% below threshold, the seller may permanently walk away instead of just rejecting.
Prevention: Don't offer 20%+ below threshold. Stay within 15% to keep the listing alive.
YES! (v2.6.2) - Seller personality is tied to vehicle DNA:
| Vehicle Type | Likely Seller |
|---|---|
| Lemons (DNA <0.30) | Desperate/Motivated (eager to sell) |
| Average (DNA 0.30-0.69) | Reasonable (standard negotiation) |
| Workhorses (DNA 0.70-0.89) | Firm (know it's good) |
| Legendary (DNA 0.90+) | Immovable (won't budge!) |
Key insight: Desperate sellers often have lemons. Stubborn sellers often have gold. The market is efficient!
Strategy: Use Comprehensive inspection to get DNA hint before negotiating.
Hidden quality trait (0.0-1.0) assigned at vehicle spawn:
| DNA Range | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 0.00-0.29 | Lemon | Repairs make it worse. Death spiral. |
| 0.30-0.69 | Average | Normal degradation |
| 0.70-0.89 | Workhorse | Minimal degradation |
| 0.90-1.00 | Legendary | IMMUNE to repair degradation! |
Can't be changed. DNA is permanent for that vehicle.
Inspection hints:
Get a Comprehensive inspection on used vehicles. The mechanic quote reveals DNA class:
- "I'd burn some sage before driving this one..." → Catastrophic (0.0-0.09)
- "The gremlins have set up permanent residence." → Terrible (0.10-0.19)
- "She's been ridden hard and put away wet." → Poor (0.20-0.29) - LEMON
- "About what you'd expect from the factory." → Average (0.40-0.59)
- "This is what we call a 'keeper' in the business." → Good (0.70-0.79) - WORKHORSE
- "If machines had souls, this one's is blessed." → Legendary (0.95-1.00) - HOLY GRAIL
Behavioral clues:
- Frequent malfunctions despite maintenance
- Reliability drops even after repairs
- Desperate seller (they know!)
DNA affects degradation, not immunity to malfunctions!
- Legendaries are immune to repair degradation (max ceiling never drops)
- Legendaries are NOT immune to malfunctions (engine overheats, hydraulic surges, etc.)
You still must maintain fluids! Low oil/hydraulic levels cause malfunctions on any vehicle.
Difference:
- Lemon: Breaks down, gets repaired, max ceiling drops 1%, breaks down again faster (death spiral)
- Legendary: Breaks down, gets repaired, max ceiling stays 100%, no death spiral (can last forever)
Maximum reliability a vehicle can be repaired to.
- New vehicles: 100% ceiling
- After repairs: Ceiling drops slightly (except Legendaries)
- After breakdowns: Ceiling drops (Legendaries take only 30% damage)
Example (Lemon):
- Start: 100% ceiling
- After 10 repairs: 90% ceiling (lost 10%)
- After 50 repairs: 50% ceiling
- Eventually: Can never be repaired above 30%
Example (Legendary):
- Start: 100% ceiling
- After 100 repairs: 100% ceiling (IMMUNE!)
- After 50 breakdowns: 90% ceiling (50 × 3-8% × 0.30 multiplier)
Service Truck is the ONLY way to restore reliability ceiling (as of v2.9.0).
- OBD Scanner: Restores reliability up to 80%, but does NOT restore ceiling
- Workshop Repair: Restores reliability, but does NOT restore ceiling
- Service Truck: Long-term restoration process that restores BOTH reliability AND ceiling
See Service Truck section for details.
Three tiers with different trade-offs:
| Tier | Cost | Traction | Wear Rate | Starting Wear | Effective Life |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Retread | 40% | 85% | 2x faster | +35% worn | 32% of Normal |
| Normal | 100% | 100% | 1x | Fresh | 100% baseline |
| Quality | 150% | 110% | 0.67x | -15% bonus | 172% of Normal |
DNA affects wear rate too (v2.3.0):
- Lemons: 1.4x wear multiplier
- Workhorses: 0.6x wear multiplier
Example: Workhorse with Quality tires = 0.67 × 0.6 = 0.4x wear rate (2.5x longer life!) Example: Lemon with Retread tires = 2.0 × 1.4 = 2.8x wear rate (1/3 the life)
Strategy: Quality tires on workhorses last FOREVER. Retreads on lemons are a waste of money.
Low fluid levels multiply malfunction frequency! (v2.5.2)
| Fluid Level | Malfunction Multiplier |
|---|---|
| 100% | 1.0x (baseline) |
| 50% | 2.0x (twice as likely) |
| 20% | 2.6x (over twice as likely) |
| 0% | 3.0x (triple frequency) |
Check your fluids! Open OBD Scanner (Diagnose Component mode) or Fluids Dialog to see oil and hydraulic levels.
Also affects duration: Low fluids make malfunctions last 1.5-2.5x longer.
The signature malfunction (v2.5.0):
Triggered when BOTH oil AND hydraulic fluid drop below 10%:
- Speed governor fails
- Vehicle accelerates to 150% max speed
- Brakes only 40% effective
- Must turn off engine or crash to stop!
Prevention: Never let BOTH fluids drop below 10% simultaneously.
Emergency fix: Turn off engine (I key), let it coast to a stop.
Three options:
| Method | Where | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Workshop Repair | Map > Click Vehicle > Repair | Full repair with finance option |
| RVB Workshop (if installed) | Workshop screen > Service | Full RVB part repair |
| OBD Scanner | Field (hand tool) | Emergency field repair |
Partial repair option: Workshop repair dialog lets you choose 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% repair.
Tip: Why repair 100% if you're about to sell it? Save money with partial repair.
Yes! Workshop repair dialog offers:
- Cash - Pay full amount immediately
- Finance - Spread cost over 6-36 months with interest
Requirements: Must have eligible credit and debt capacity for finance option.
Field Service Kit is a portable OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) scanner you carry to disabled vehicles.
Purpose: Emergency field repairs when you can't get the vehicle to a workshop.
Cost:
- Basic Kit: $5,000 (1.0x boost multiplier)
- Professional Kit: $12,000 (1.25x boost multiplier)
- Master Kit: $25,000 (1.5x boost multiplier)
Buy from: Shop (under "Tools" or "Misc" category)
- Buy Field Service Kit from shop
- Walk to disabled vehicle (you're now holding the kit)
- Stand near vehicle, press [O] key
- OBD Scanner dialog opens with mode selection
Four modes:
- Diagnose Component - Diagnostic minigame for reliability boost
- Locate Malfunctions - Quick view of active issues
- Tire Service - Per-wheel inspection and repair
- RVB System Analysis - RVB part status (only if RVB installed)
Choose component → Read codes → Pick diagnosis → Get repair:
- Select system: Engine, Electrical, or Hydraulic
- Scanner shows 3 diagnostic readings (codes, sensor values, test results)
- Choose from 4 possible root causes
- Outcome depends on accuracy:
- Perfect (right system + right cause): 8-15% boost (12-22.5% with Master kit)
- Good (right system + wrong cause): 4-8% boost
- Poor (wrong system): 1-3% boost
Kit is consumed regardless of outcome! Choose carefully.
One-time diagnosis limit (v2.8.0): Each system can only be diagnosed ONCE per vehicle.
- Engine: ✓ One boost available → ✗ Exhausted
- Electrical: ✓ One boost available → ✗ Exhausted
- Hydraulic: ✓ One boost available → ✗ Exhausted
Error message: "This system has already received field service. Further repairs require workshop equipment."
Why? Prevents exploit of spam-buying kits for unlimited restoration.
Exception: Seizure repair does NOT consume the diagnostic boost. You can fix a seized component with OBD and still have your diagnostic boost available.
Field repair cap (v2.8.0): OBD Scanner has an 80% reliability maximum.
Also respects vehicle ceiling: The actual cap is min(80%, vehicleCeiling).
Examples:
- New tractor (100% ceiling): OBD can restore to 80%
- Old tractor (65% ceiling due to wear): OBD can restore to 65%
- Legendary workhorse (100% ceiling): OBD can restore to 80%
To exceed 80%: Use workshop repair services.
No. OBD Scanner does NOT restore reliability ceiling.
For ceiling restoration, you need the Service Truck (see next section).
Quick diagnostic view:
- Shows all active malfunctions on the vehicle
- Lists affected system (engine, electrical, hydraulic, tires, fuel)
- Shows malfunction name (e.g., "Hydraulic Surge", "Engine Overheat")
- No repair - just information
Use case: Quick check before deciding whether to use an OBD kit or tow to workshop.
Two separate systems:
| Type | Trigger | Consumes Diagnosis? | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seizure Repair | Component seized (critical failure) | NO | Vehicle ceiling |
| Component Diagnosis | Normal diagnostic boost | YES | min(80%, ceiling) |
Seizure repair is emergency first aid. You can fix a seized engine with OBD and still have your engine diagnosis boost available for later.
Driveable service truck that performs long-term vehicle restoration (added v2.9.0).
Unique feature: The ONLY way to restore degraded reliability ceiling!
Cost: $67,500 (cash only) - 10% connection discount from retail $75,000
NOT in shop! Must be discovered through National Agent network.
Prerequisites (ALL required):
- ✅ 3+ OBD Scanner uses - You understand the basic repair system
- ✅ 700+ credit score - You're a serious customer
- ✅ Own a vehicle with ceiling < 90% - You've felt the pain of degradation
Discovery trigger:
- Complete any National Agent transaction (buy or sell)
- If prerequisites met: 20% chance agent mentions "a connection"
- Special opportunity dialog: Retiring mechanic's service truck
- Cash only - $67,500 (must have cash on hand)
- Accept now or decline (saved to Finance Manager for 30 days)
Pity timer: Guaranteed discovery after 10 eligible transactions.
Endgame tool balance:
If available from day one:
- Players would skip OBD Scanner entirely
- Ceiling degradation would be meaningless
- Lemon/workhorse dynamic loses its bite
By gating it, you earn the ability to save lemons. You've built credit, fixed vehicles the hard way, and worked with premium agents. NOW you get the premium tool.
Long-term process (hours/days of game time):
- Park near target - Drive service truck within 10m of damaged vehicle
- Inspection minigame - Pass diagnostic quiz (similar to OBD Scanner)
- Restoration begins - Target vehicle immobilized (wheels hidden, engine locked)
-
Progress over time:
- 1% reliability restored per game hour
- 0.25% ceiling restored per game hour
-
Resource consumption:
- Diesel: 5L/hour
- Oil: 0.5L/hour
- Hydraulic Fluid: 0.5L/hour
- Spare Parts: 2 parts/hour
- Completion - Vehicle fully restored, wheels back on, ready to use
Purchasable pallets containing 100 spare parts ($500).
Buy from: Shop (under "Pallets" or "Misc" category)
Usage:
- Place within 5m of service truck
- Truck auto-consumes 2 parts per game hour
- No parts = work pauses (no damage, just stopped)
Tip: Buy 2-3 pallets for long restoration jobs. You don't want to run out mid-job!
Work pauses immediately:
- Warning notifications appear
- Target vehicle is NOT damaged
- Refill fluids to resume
If ignored too long: Eventually the target vehicle can take damage. Don't ignore the warnings!
Prevention: Keep the service truck fueled! Check levels regularly during long jobs.
YES! That's the whole point.
Example (Lemon with 50% ceiling):
- Start restoration at 30% reliability, 50% ceiling
- After 200 game hours: 100% reliability, 100% ceiling
- Lemon is now as good as new (until it breaks down again)
Worth it? Depends on the vehicle. High-value equipment? Absolutely. Cheap tractor you're about to replace? Probably not.
Yes, but less necessary.
Legendaries are immune to repair degradation, so their ceiling only drops from breakdowns (at 30% rate).
Use case: If you neglected maintenance and had lots of breakdowns, a Legendary can still benefit from Service Truck restoration.
Yes! Full multiplayer support with server-authoritative logic (v2.7.2 hardening).
All transactions are validated and processed on the server to prevent exploits.
Yes. Credit scores, deals, and searches are tracked per-farm.
- Farm 1: 750 credit, 3 active loans
- Farm 2: 600 credit, 1 active loan
- Farm 3: 700 credit, no active loans
Each farm builds credit independently.
No. Finance Manager only shows data for YOUR farm (the one you're currently controlling).
Farm members on the same farm can see shared data, but you can't see other farms' finances.
Security validation (v2.7.2):
Common rejection reasons:
- Not your farm: You tried to modify another farm's finances
- Insufficient funds: Farm doesn't have the cash
- Invalid parameters: Negative amounts, NaN values, or out-of-range values
- Sync desync: Reload your game to resync with server
Check log file for specific error messages.
Yes! Inspections are server-side with progress tracking.
All farms can see the same listings, but inspection state is per-farm:
- Farm 1 inspects vehicle → sees full report
- Farm 2 doesn't inspect → sees "Not Inspected" warning
- Farm 3 also inspects → pays fee, gets own report
No. Credit scores are save-specific and cannot be transferred.
Each new game starts at 650 (Fair) credit.
Deeply Integrated:
| Mod | Integration |
|---|---|
| Real Vehicle Breakdowns | DNA affects part lifetimes, workshop injection, OBD display |
| Use Up Your Tyres | Two-way sync, DNA/quality wear multipliers, per-wheel display |
| EnhancedLoanSystem | ELS loans show in Finance Manager, Pay Early works |
| HirePurchasing | HP leases show in Finance Manager |
| Employment | Worker wages included in monthly obligations |
Feature Deferral:
| Mod | Behavior |
|---|---|
| BuyUsedEquipment | UsedPlus hides its Search button, BUE handles used search |
YES! Deep integration.
DNA affects RVB:
- Lemon DNA (0.0-0.29): RVB parts fail 40% faster (0.6x lifetime multiplier)
- Average DNA (0.30-0.69): RVB parts fail at normal rate (1.0x)
- Workhorse DNA (0.70-0.89): RVB parts last 40% longer (1.4x)
- Legendary DNA (0.90+): RVB parts last 40% longer AND repair degradation immune
OBD Scanner shows RVB parts: Engine Core, Thermostat, Generator, Battery, Starter, Glow Plug status.
Workshop integration: RVB's "Repair" button opens UsedPlus partial repair dialog (unless you disable the override).
Override toggle (v2.7.0):
If you want RVB to handle repair natively:
- Open ESC > Settings > UsedPlus
- Find "Override RVB Repair" setting
- Set to OFF
- Now RVB's Repair button uses RVB's native dialog
When OFF: Use Map > "Repair Vehicle" to access UsedPlus partial repair features.
YES! Deep integration (v2.3.0).
DNA affects UYT tire wear:
- Lemons: Tires wear 40% faster (1.4x multiplier)
- Workhorses: Tires wear 40% slower (0.6x multiplier)
Quality affects UYT tire wear:
- Retread: Wear 2x faster
- Normal: Baseline
- Quality: Wear 33% slower (0.67x)
Per-wheel display: TiresDialog shows FL/FR/RL/RR wear when UYT is installed.
Two-way sync: Replacing tires in UsedPlus resets UYT wear tracking.
Compatibility toggle:
- Open ESC > Settings > UsedPlus
- Find "Override Shop Buy/Lease" setting
- Set to OFF
- Now other mods handle Buy/Lease, UsedPlus uses "Finance" button
When OFF: You can still finance/lease vehicles - just use the "Finance" button instead of "Buy".
YES! Feature deferral.
When BUE is detected:
- UsedPlus hides its "Search Used" button
- BUE handles all used vehicle searches
- UsedPlus still provides finance, credit, maintenance, and sales features
No conflict - they divide responsibilities.
NOT RECOMMENDED. Both mods track vehicle condition and maintenance.
Problem: Overlapping systems can cause confusion and unintended behavior.
Solution: Use one or the other, not both.
Yes! Courseplay is a worker automation mod with no financial/maintenance systems.
No conflicts whatsoever.
Check log file:
- Play for a bit with all mods enabled
- Close game
- Open
Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\log.txt - Search for "UsedPlus" to see warnings/errors
- Search for "Error:" or "Warning:" for general issues
Common signs of conflict:
- Buttons not appearing
- Dialogs failing to open
- Duplicate keybinds showing
- Shop interactions doing nothing
YES! Settings menu has master toggles:
- Open ESC > Settings > UsedPlus
- Toggle features on/off:
- Enable Financing
- Enable Leasing
- Enable Used Search
- Enable Vehicle Sales
- Enable Repair System
- Enable Maintenance System
- Enable Credit System
- Enable Malfunctions
Disabling a feature makes UsedPlus behave as if that feature doesn't exist.
Location:
-
Windows:
Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\log.txt -
Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/FarmingSimulator2025/log.txt
What to look for:
- Search for "UsedPlus" to see mod-specific messages
- Search for "Error:" for crash/failure messages
- Search for "Warning:" for non-critical issues
Common causes:
- Corrupted savegame: Try loading an earlier autosave
- Mod conflict: Disable other finance mods and test
- Memory issue: Close background apps, restart game
- Outdated mod version: Update to latest UsedPlus release
Debug steps:
- Check log file for specific error message
- Disable ALL other mods, test with ONLY UsedPlus
- If it works, re-enable mods one at a time to find culprit
- Report issue on GitHub with log file attached
Check payment history:
- Open Finance Manager
- Click "Credit Report"
- Review recent events
Common issues:
- No active deals = no payment history to build credit
- Missed payments canceling out on-time payments
- Debt-to-asset ratio too high (selling assets improves score)
Solution: Take a small loan, pay it on-time for 6+ months, pay it off early (+50 points).
Fixed in v2.9.1. Update to latest version.
Workaround (old versions):
- Escape out of dialog
- Reopen negotiation
- Make a different offer (try 5% higher)
Check status:
- Open Finance Manager
- Go to "Used Vehicles" tab
- Select the listing
- Look for "Inspection Status" field
Possible states:
- Not Inspected - No inspection requested
- In Progress - Waiting X hours remaining
- Complete - Ready to view report
If stuck "In Progress": Wait for game hours to pass (not real-time hours!).
Common issues:
- Not near vehicle: Must be within activation range
- Already in vehicle: Scanner only works when you're on foot
- Vehicle doesn't support: Scanner only works on driveable vehicles (not implements alone)
- Keybind conflict: Another mod is using the [O] key
Check keybinds:
- Open ESC > Settings > Controls
- Search for "UsedPlus"
- Verify OBD Scanner action is bound to a key
- Change if conflicting with another mod
Service Truck is not delivered to your farm!
It spawns at the discovery location (wherever you completed the National Agent transaction).
To find it:
- Open map (Tab)
- Look for vehicle icon (should be a service truck icon)
- Fast travel or drive to location
Once found: Drive it to your farm and park it in a garage.
Work pauses when fluids run out:
- Refuel the service truck (diesel)
- Refill oil and hydraulic fluid
- Place spare parts pallets within 5m if needed
- Work resumes automatically
Warning notifications appear when fluids are low. Don't ignore them!
Farm ownership validation (v2.7.2 security):
You tried to perform a transaction on a farm you don't control.
Solutions:
- Switch to the correct farm (if you're a member)
- Join the farm if you should have access
- Ask the farm owner to perform the transaction
This is intentional to prevent multiplayer exploits.
Asset seizure working as intended.
After 3 consecutive missed payments:
- Vehicle is repossessed
- You lose the asset (no refund)
- Credit score drops -100 points
- Remaining balance is forgiven
Prevention: Use "Minimum Payment" option if you're short on cash. It's interest-only and prevents seizure.
Fixed in v2.6.3. Update to latest version.
Issue: UsedPlus was intercepting Buy button on consumables it doesn't handle.
Workaround (old versions):
- Open ESC > Settings > UsedPlus
- Set "Override Shop Buy/Lease" to OFF
- Now consumables use vanilla shop flow
For developers/advanced users only:
- Navigate to mod folder:
Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\mods\FS25_UsedPlus\ - Open
src\UsedPlusCore.luain text editor - Line 19: Change
DEBUG = falsetoDEBUG = true - Save file
- Reload game
Warning: Produces VERY VERBOSE logging. Only enable when troubleshooting specific issues.
Admin Control Panel (v2.9.5):
For in-game testing/debugging:
- Be in a vehicle
- Open console (tilde key)
- Type:
upAdminCP - Press Enter
5-tab admin panel opens with test buttons for malfunctions, spawning, finance manipulation, dialog testing, and state modification.
