After a successful day of planning yesterday, which included completing our wire-frames on figma and our domain modelling (available in our README). Team IO met this morning, to begin our stand-up which was overseen by Lilly, who was selected to be the scrum-master for the day, with myself, Jordan, taking notes to write the blog for today which you are reading. The aim of the stand-up for today was discuss how yesterday went, something you learnt, and further discussion for the plan for the day. Collectively, everyone agreed that figma was extremely useful with some members of the team having little/no experience with it before. More importantly, the team emphasised how essential it was to plan for as long as we did yesterday as we were in a great position to split off into teams and start coding!

We all came to an agreement that today we would split off into two teams of three. Both teams focussing on the User and Post Classes we had identified in our domain modelling the previous day. Team User comprised of Shakira, Ifrah and Tom, and team Post was made up of Lilly, Boris and myself, Jordan.

I cannot go into as much detail with how Team User got on throughout the afternoon as I can with my group, but the general discussion from the afternoons retro (which I will go into next) suggested it was a productive afternoon.

The aim of this afternoons retro was to:

  • How the day went.
  • What you would have done differently.
  • Did we waste anytime.
  • Discuss any blockers.

Both teams did an excellent job, Team User successfully created our initial sign-up and log-in page with built in authentication, Team Post, started well, we did face a blocker which we could not seem to shrug. Tomorrow is a new day however, and we will let you know the progress we made!
