Privacy Policy
TAO Translator uses third party translation services to provide translations. For this purpose, it collects from the user and transfers to the service the following information:
- source language, selected by the user;
- target language, selected by the user;
- text, entered by the user.
Transfer of the information happens when user presses Translate button. A secure (HTTPS) connection is used whenever possible.
TAO Translator does not collect or transfer any other information, either anonymous or personally identifiable, except for the information stated above and in the In-App Analytics section. However, third party translation services might collect additional information. If you'd like to know what information is collected by a third party translation service, please, consult Privacy Policy of the corresponding service. For your convenience, links to the Privacy Policy of all supported third party translation services are provided below:
TAO Translator contains application usage analytics functionality that can collect information about the actions performed in the application, application errors, and some information about your device. This information is processed by a third party analytics service, Amplitude Analytics. No personally identifiable information is sent. Collected information will be used solely for the purpose of improving TAO Translator, fixing errors, and analysing application usage.
The following information can be sent:
- Information about TAO Translator: application version, and selected settings.
- Information about your device: device manufacturer and model, operating system name and version.
- Information that may be considered "sensitive" by certain users: device country and language, operator name.
- Additional information, depending on the actions performed: see the table below.
TAO Translator users may opt-out from sending some of the information by choosing one of the three options in the application settings:
- "Yes, enable full analytics" - enables full analytics;
- "Enable only error reporting" - enables error reporting only;
- "No, I don't want to help" - enables minimal analytics.
When minimal analytics option is selected, no information that may be considered "sensitive" is sent. The table below provides more details about what events are sent when different options are selected.
