Nokia N9

Starting from 2014, due to a Nokia Store Freeze, TAO Translator is distributed through OpenRepos.net.

Version Status

TAO Translator in the Nokia Store is OUTDATED. There were a lot of changes since version 0.3.1, so it is highly recommended to upgrade.

Upgrade Instructions

NOTE: If you installed The Advanced Online Translator from the Nokia Store, it is higly recommended to remove it before proceeding with these instructions.

Recommended Installation

By installing TAO Translator this way you will get update notifications when new version comes out. You will also be able to update it using built in software updater of your Nokia N9.

To install TAO Translator follow these steps:

1. Go to https://openrepos.net/content/basil/warehouse and download the latest warehouse_<version>_armel.deb file to your Nokia N9.

2. Start installing it and confirm a warning about uncertified source.

3. The installation should begin and might take some time.

   .

4. After installation finishes, open newly installed Warehouse application and search for taot.

   .

5. Select TAO Translator from the list and press Enable repository button. This will enable installation of TAO Translator from OpenRepos.

   .

6. If repository was successfully enabled, press Install button. This will install the latest version of TAO Translator from OpenRepos.

   .

If you would like to check for updates in future you can either open Warehouse application and check for updates from there, or use built in software updater by going to Settings -> Applications -> Manage apllications -> select a tab on the right and press refresh icon inside of Updates header.

Simple Installation

Just go to https://openrepos.net/content/leppa/tao-translator-nokia-n9, download the latest taot_<version>_armel.deb file from Application versions list to your phone and install it.

You won't get automatic update notifications if you install TAO Translator this way, but there is Check for Updates feature in the application. You'll have to run it manually from time to time. If you'd like to get automatic update notifications, please, follow the Recommended Installation instructions.
