Orbit Information

The Floripasat-I mission orbits 650 km away from the Earth, sun-synchronous (98.5°), with revolution period being 5854 seconds and LTAN (Local Time Ascendig Node) 10:30. The satellite is going to pass over Brazil almost four times a day, completing about 15 revolutions around the Earth every day.

FloripaSat-I Orbit Around Brazil"

The revolution of the satellite over the earth, allows the Floripasat-I to recharge their batteries during 70% of the flight time, this condition is allowed because the cube will orbit the earth on day times, where there is sun light available.

FloripaSat-I's revolutions over Brazil takes approximately 12 minutes, giving an estimative of 48 minutes a day for comunication with the groundstation. Two of the four times, the satellite comunicates with the groundstation on day light time. The figure below gives an idea about trajectory of FloripaSat.

Our objective is to make the radio communication protocol open for users located anywhere around the world, increasing the chance of a user to capture the signal package without errors wherever he/she is.
