Note

This list of responsibilities will likely change and adapt as the project's needs change.

The project maintains an ever evolving group of student researchers that meet as a team to guide the project. In addition to all normal onboarding tasks, researchers on the team also:

Onboard

  • Join the Discord server and claim the research assistant role.
  • Give Amy your student # so she can give you access to MGH 015

Communicate

  • Attend the weekly team huddle. In the first huddle of the quarter, we review this page; in the remaining, we review the project backlog and milestones, and discuss broader design and architectural issues in the project.
  • Post weekly progress reports on the [https://lcicenter.slack.com](LCI Slack) #research channel, as part of the broader LCI research community

Inclusion

  • Make Discord a welcoming place by welcoming newcomers, helping newcomers find the right channels to be on and set up their roles, celebrating people's accomplishments, and moderating the space.

Improve

  • Gather feedback from contributors, especially managers, about workflows, policies, culture, and more
  • Watch for maintenance issues that indicate process improvements
  • Synthesize that feedback into revisions on this wiki to describe revised processes and policies.

Research

  • Optionally identify research questions, design research plans, and conduct research in collaboration with Amy
  • Optionally select an issue with a research label to work on
  • Optionally attend weekly LCI research meetings and Wordplay research meetings to learn about and further the project's research.
