This reverts commit e58f154 because the "fix" is causing double frees when piped through ruby-gpgme. See issue brianmario#12.
The Rubinius maintainer says this code isn't even needed anyway so...

Hi Brian. I know you're reluctant to deal with this any more but I've been asked several times to get these changed merged here and I'm personally still using this gem. A new release would be helpful too. Thanks.
