Key Mapping
The keys you're gonna press during the gameplay are determined by a 2-stage mapping.
In the first stage, column numbers in the beatmap are mapped to logical keys. For example, a 4K beatmap has column number 1~4, and 6K has 1~6. There are two schemes available for this stage: beatmania IIDX and DJMax.
Logical keys are K1, K2, ..., K9, and S1.
This scheme allows 4K to 8K.
In 4K, column number 1, 2, 3, 4 are mapped to K1, K2, K4, K5.
For others, column numbers and logical keys are the same. If you open a beatmap that's not compatible with your key mapping configuration, you'll get an error.
This scheme allows 1K to 9K. Here are the logical keys used by 1K to 9K:
- K5
- K4, K6
- K4, K5, K6
- K3, K4, K6, K7
- K3, K4, K5, K6, K7
- K2, K3, K4, K6, K7, K8
- K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8
- K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8
- K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9
In the second sage, locigal keys are mapped to physical keys on your calculator. You can use function keys, all keys in the lower and middle part.
