Rules

- Rules can only be added where two lines intersect. If a line does not meet or intersect with a different line then adding a rule will not be an option.
- A single marking line can consist of several parts, or segments. Each segment can be customized as its own individual line with its own style, color and offset (if an offset can be applied).
- Once the above condition of intersecting lines is met you will see the "Add Rule" button appear in the right hand panel of the Lines tab (this will also apply to any lines the main line intersects with). You will also be able to select the “From” and “To” fields in the first rule. (The first rule is the rule that created the line.)
- To create additional rules simply click the "Add Rule" button and adjust the next rules properties.
- Clicking Add Rule multiple times will give you multiple windows in the same panel for the same line.
-
DO NOT DELETE LINES that you do not want but have intersecting lines that have rules applied! This will also delete all of the intersecting lines and all of your hard work.
- Instead, delete the RULES of the line you do not want to be seen in the Lines tab. You do this by pressing the X in the right hand corner for any and all rules. (Including the rule the created the line.) Once the line has an empty side panel and only the “Add Rule” Button remains, the line becomes invisible on the intersection but it will still be held as a placeholder in the Lines tab.
- The line can be highlighted on the road and can be used again by simply click "Add Rule" and setting up the properties.
- "From" is the start of the customized segment.
- "To" is the end of the customized segment.
- A rule that overlaps another rule's To / From points will always overwrite the other rule causing it not to appear. The bigger line always eats the smaller line...
- When adding a rule the From and To fields are "Not Set" until you set them up where you want them. This option can be changed to automatically fill with the first rule's From / To points by selecting the "Quick Rule Setup" in the Options menu.
- Hovering your mouse over the From or To areas in the menu will show a small white dot on the road where the location of the From or To is located at on the line.
- If a segment does not have a rule set up, no markings will appear.
- Clicking the "From" or "To" fields will cause all other the default line selectors to be removed from view. The new view will show ONLY the points that can be selected for the RULE you currently have selected. These show up as RED circles and are highlighted in white when they are hovered over before selecting them. After one is clicked the default line selectors will reappear. If you do not want to click one of the "red circles" then right clicking once will exit back to the original line selector view also.
