Language An Introduction
FooocusPlus has two language systems to assist international users:
User Interface (UI) Support that depends on custom language files created by volunteers. Internally, FooocusPlus calls this system "Localization".
Offline Prompt Translation services using the Argos Translate software library, including its Language Packs
In the illustration above, we see both systems at work. Not only is the whole user interface in Spanish, but in addition the user has entered a Spanish language prompt and pressed the Generate ("Generar") button to create the image. Because most generative base models only operate in English, FooocusPlus auto-translates prompts entered in the supported language prior to submitting them to the image creation system.
As an option, the user can press the Translate button to immediately convert the prompt to English. This is essential for the use of Wildcards, which are in English and must be inserted into English language text. Typically, the auto-translate function and the Translate button will produce identical results, as they did in this case. This example uses unofficial words for the chorus to the Spanish National Anthem.
Note that on some computers it is necessary to press the Translate button twice to activate it.
When the Translation service is activated and you type English text into any of the prompt boxes (including the Negative Prompt and Inpainting prompts), always put an initial space at the front of the text. This will prevent the program trying from to auto-translate English into English. The Translate button adds this initial space automatically. And if you use the Translate button with English text marked in this way, it will do a reverse translation - translating English into the selected language.
Unlike most other language services, Argos Translate does not operate online. This enhances privacy and security and is suitable for locations with intermittent or restricted Internet access. The only time that Argos Translate needs to go online is to install or update the selected Language Packs.

The Prompt Translator has three other functions besides translating the prompt to and from the supported language and English. The Interpret function not only converts most of the messages in the console window into the supported languages, but the Wildcards and the status updates shown in the User Interface are also "Interpreted" into the chosen language. In the attachment below, the status update "Paso de muestereo 14/30, imagen 1/1" is Spanish for "Sampling step 14/30, image 1/1".
By default the Prompt Translator is active if a supported language has been selected. If you would prefer to always prompt in English, uncheck the Prompt Translator Enable control (located under the Extras tab as shown below).
To change this option on a more permanent basis, set the "default_prompt_translator_enable" option in config.txt to "false". If this new option cannot be found, the easiest way to initiate it is to make a copy of UserDir/config.txt (to preserve your current edits, if any) and then delete config.txt. It will be rebuilt automatically the next time you start FooocusPlus.
