1.1. Characters
1.2. Special Characters
1.3. Game's Plotline
Sengoku Blade contains a roster of colorful and attractive characters. This time things are a bit different because instead of the cast of characters flying with the help of ships, in Sengoku Blade they fly about the screen all by themselves. From Sengoku Ace, we can enjoy again with characters like Koyori, Tengai and Ayin and meet new ones like Sho, Junis and Katana. Each one of these characters has its own storyline with different endings.
| Character | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
![]() |
Koyori/ Miko | She is 17 years old voluptuous kunoichi shrine girl. She is accompanied by her spirit called Basaro that helps her a lot during the combats. |
![]() |
Shoumaru / Sho | a young ninja who is in love with the hijacked princess Futsuhime and wants revenge for the death of his family esppecially his mom. He throws some kind of daggers or blades and during all game we can observe that his father is the main villian fo the game. |
![]() |
Tengai | is a 50 years old Buddhist warrior-sacerdotist who travels around the world with the main mission to find and destroy the evil to predominate the peace over the world |
![]() |
Junis | she is a cool 12 year old ninja girl with a pet lemur called Socrates that throws shurikens; she has an older sister called Jane, who disappeared in the previous Tengai game but she believes that she is still alive. |
![]() |
Hagane / Katana | She is a samurai robot attempting recover its human body. To recover its body it has to defeat the evil forces and she has a laser spears machine gun to fight against enemies. Katana is really a swordswoman called Hagane and during some of her endings, she reveals her first name: Kirie. |
![]() |
Ayin / Kain | He is an archer samurai who appears as a secret character in Sengoku Blade. His main mission is looking and find where is his sister Asuka. To unlock and play with this Ayin character we need to move the cursor to the random selection box an input this code: UP x3, DOWN x3 and UP x7. |
At this time, Sengoku Blade contains several characters which come from another Psyko game like Gunbird. This characters are Marion and Ash.
| Character | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
![]() |
Marion | a 13 years old witch from England. She flies on a boomstick and is always together with his magic bunny who talks a lot with her called Pomme-Pomme, that frequently suffers mistreats and abuses verbally and physically. Marion is an important character from Gunbird but appears as a playable character in Sengoku blade. To unlock Marion you have to beat the game with all the characters (including Ayin) in a one-player mode without switching characters on any difficulty level during each game. After that, go to the far right Random Select symbol and press Up. Marion will appear as a playable character (only in Sega Saturn version of the game). |
![]() |
Ash | a 28 year old German inventor. He flies thanks to a Jetpack. He is an important character from Gunbird but has another appearances to Tengai. He appears in all the team endings with Marion (only in Sega Saturn version of the game). Therefore, he is not a playable character and, as we can see in his appearances, he has an insane interest for Marion because he is attracted to young girls. |
![]() |
Feudal King | He is the king of the Esast Lands, who request a rescue offering a great reward to recover his hijacked daughter |
![]() |
Princess Futsuhime | She is the princess of the East Lands who was hijacked by the Villian, so she become the main plotline of the game |
As it mentioned above, Every character of the game has his own plotline and there are two ending for each one. The cooperative mode of the game has several alternative plotlines according to combination of two characters. In the final stage, the user will have to decide which way he faces and gets his respective ending.
The main plotline where all the characters match is the rescue of the princess Kuzuhime they accept from the request of the feudal king. Before being hijacked, the princess Kuzuhime sends a message to Eastern Lands to prevent the villian's plan to destroy the world at the beginning of next dawn.
In the most individual and cooperative mode endings we can observe the different reasons of each character which they accept to save the princess.
- Miko wants the reward offered by the king
- Sho wants to take revenge on his mother and kill his father (the villiant). He also wants to save Kuzu because he falls in love with her.
- Tengai has a the moral mission to travel around the world to find and kill evil. He just wants to save the world and predominate peace forever.
- Junis' personal mission is to find her lost sister calls Jane, who still alive
- Katana's wants to break free her stolen body by the Villian
- Ayin wants to find her lost sister calls Asuka.
There are two types of routes that the user can choose once he reachs the final stage. In first hand, there is the "Break Through The Front Gate" route, which user picks if he follows in a straight line and he will fight to main boss. In second hand, there is the "The Secret Passage At The Bottom" route, which user picks if he entered into the secret path and he will be redirected into an alternative ending which ends in a completely different way than the main one.

- Ending 1
In this ending with the secret character Marion, after defeat the Villian, the king offers her any reward she wants. She asks for being the main character in Gunbird 2. After the plug she discovers she has been in a dream recreating the story of Sengoku Blade II. She only has one main ending.

Upon losing, all characters will have the same bad ending where the world will have to face the cruelty of the beast and all the creatures will be burnt.

Depending on the combination of the characters you choose in the teamplay mode there will be different endings.
In the cooperative ending with Miko and Ayin, Miko will cheat on Ayin and send him to space to obtain alone the reward. But when she personates Ayin she will find out a maiden has already taken al the reward. And while Ayin is in outer space whining about himself being a complete fool.

The princess is dead and Tengai suggest to Miko that she disguise herself as the princess. Miko does it and Tengai continues with his journey to save the world while Miko is in the castle.

Katana gets her body back and discusses with Ayin what she¡s going to do to get back on it. She tells him to meet her in six days and if she becomes human again she wil be there. They meet six days later and they begin a journey together.

The story behind this team play ending is that Hagane (Katana) becomes human again and proclaims the kiss Junis promised, beginning a new journey both women being "together".

In this ending Katana gets back her body. Sho is surprised by the fact Katana is a woman. As the evil lord is his father, he have lost his family and evrything. Katana asks him to be part of his family, but Sho's asks her to be his mother.

In Tengai & Katana Ending, Tengai transfers Katana's soul into her body and he discovers that Katana is a woman. He dresses Katana with a schoolgirl uniform.

Junis will try to comfort Sho telling him she can be his mother if he wants it, and Sho doesn't hesitate a second and tells her to take a bath with him as she is his new mom.

Sho's master Ayin will die in his arms, but his memory will alwyas rest in Sho's heart.

They both together will begin a new journey with 20,000 brave soldiers and conquer the 7 continents, but that's another story...

The first image we see is Miko dressing-down Marion, after this Ash appears and Miko falls in love with him asking him to marry her, Ash refuses because Miko has big boobs and he only likes little girls with little boobs.

We observe Tengai blaming Marion because of her actions, suddenly Ash appears from out of nowhere stoping Tengai and telling him not to seak in that rude way to his beloved Marion, beating him and escaping with Marion back to "their own game".

Marion and Katana's ending is the same as Tengai and Sho's, it ends up with Ash coming to rescue Marion, beating Katana up and taking her home with him.

With Sho the type of ending is similar to Tengai's because Ash appears and tries to "rescue" Marion from him and ends up beating him and returning home with her.

This ending is different because when Ash comes to rescue Marion he falls in love with Junis because he observes that she is "better" than his beloved Marion, ending up with Ash taking Junis with him.

If user completed all stages at first loop, when he jumps to sencond loop, each one of enemies player faced to before increase their difficult to kill them and their bullets patterns will be more dynamic and difficult to avoid them.
Tengai Sengoku Blade is an arcade horizontal scrolling shoot 'em up with a much more complex gameplay system than his predecessor (Sengoku Ace) including impressive parallax scrolling effects and detailed and well-animated characters and backgrounds, in which there are five playable characters with different type of shots each of one fly around on the screen by themselves. The mainly objective is getting through the stage killing as many enemies inside as possible and gainning as many points as possible in each stage to obtain the best possible score. Scattered items by the stages include a power-up to increase standard shot power level in number of shots and that can be upgraded up to four times, bombs, and bonus coins to increase score. If the player touches an enemy ship, he will drop one power-up shot item and will lose a life if he get a hit by an enemy bullet until lose all lifes and insert coins to play again in the same place player dies.

The controls of the game are very simple and intuitive which get familiar quickly with the user. At first, on left of arcade machine table, you got a stick to move the player in any direction. In its right side, there are two buttons. A button called "fire" for executing the normal shots when being pressed once and executing a charged shot when being held and released. also there is a "bomb" button for basicly throwing bombs. There is a third button but it doesn't work. At Second, we can see that this game can be played for two players, so that there are on the right side of arcade machine table the controls for the second player exactly the same as player one's controls. At last, there are obviusly a "start" button to start the game and a "coin" button to play again the game after having paid.
