Independent systems researcher · automation · archival infrastructure
I’m an independent, hands-on researcher based in Chicago with a focus on automation, systems behavior, operational technology (OT), and long-term data preservation.
My work centers on understanding how systems operate at scale — where they fail, how information degrades or disappears over time, and how to design workflows that make data durable, verifiable, and recoverable rather than fragile or ephemeral.
I’m particularly interested in preserving information that is at risk of being lost, altered, or quietly removed, as well as studying systems that are traditionally opaque or under-documented.
I tend to learn by building and stress-testing real systems, especially where software, hardware, radio, and policy constraints intersect.
- Applied scripting & automation
- Data hoarding & mass archiving
- Archival tooling & preservation workflows
- Signals intelligence (SIGINT) — signal capture, classification, and analysis in controlled environments
- Operational Technology (OT) & industrial control concepts — system behavior, reliability, and failure modes
- Networking & systems fundamentals
- Radio communications & signal analysis
- Embedded & small-scale hardware projects
- Technical research & documentation
I work with a mixed, problem-driven stack rather than a fixed tech list:
Tooling is selected based on reliability, transparency, and long-term maintainability.
