Responsive Design Checker is a Chrome extension that allows web developers and designers to quickly check how their websites look on various device screen sizes.
- Check website responsiveness across common devices
- View websites in different screen sizes without leaving your browser
- Easily switch between portrait and landscape modes
- See device-specific and general media query information
- Download the latest release of Responsive Design Checker from the GitHub releases page
- Unzip the downloaded file to a location on your computer
- Open Google Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions - Enable "Developer mode" in the top right corner
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the directory where you unzipped the extension files
- The Responsive Design Checker extension should now be installed and visible in your Chrome toolbar
- Click on the Responsive Design Checker icon in your Chrome toolbar
- Select a device from the dropdown menu
- Click "Check Responsiveness" to open the selected website in a new tab with the chosen device dimensions
- Use the controls to switch devices, toggle landscape mode, or refresh the page
To set up the development environment:
- Clone this repository
- Open Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions - Enable "Developer mode" in the top right corner
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the directory containing the extension files
