updated search button id
the search button is now a child of the search bar which means searchButton.click() will also click the search bar. This causes the search results to show.

The search button id has changed and it is also a child of the search bar now.
I have changed the id, added a event.stopPropagation() and updated to manifest v3.
Chrome has depreciated mv2.
