Hey there Ben, really I'm just playing with GitHub (and becoming more and more dangerous every minute I do ;-) )
Here is a commit updating jQuery. I did some cursory testing but there shouldn't be any jQuery changes that impact the usage that I have seen in the main js file in the base of the default template directory.
Thought it might help, as well as I though that it may be fun to poke around with GitHub while I had a moment.
