Hello! I'm so excited to discover I have an actual user for this code. Do you mind if I ask what you're using it for?

As to the patch, I love the example. That's great. A couple of questions:

• Why do you suggest installing from the zip file rather than, say, pip install simpleais?
• I had the hazy notion that python libraries had to have their descriptions from from RST files. But I set this up a long time ago. Does markdown now work?

Hi.

I'm came across your repository looking for (not too old) python code that could decode AIS message. I'm currently working on a vessel situation awareness software.

Sure, pip install... would be the way to go, but I figured that simpleais had not been submitted to pypi yet. Therefore the instructions to install directly from github.

About the rst format: I actually don't know! I just changed it to .md in my fork real quick to see if that would fix pip install .../master.zip, which it did. Quick research: Martijn says markdown should work.
