The project dependencies are defined in pyproject.toml. Create a new virtual environment standing at the root of the repository using
python -m venv venv --upgrade-deps
source venv/bin/activate
pip3 install -e
python -m venv venv --upgrade-deps

In order to run the website locally you need to create an .env file at the root of the repository with the fields

DATABASE_HOST
DATABASE_PORT

Initialize the database fields by running python manage.py migrate
and run the website through the command python manage.py runserver
