1. Grant of Permission
Subject to full compliance with the terms of this License, permission is granted to use, copy, modify, and contribute to this software (the "API Software") solely for the purpose of developing, testing, or contributing to the official Nocturne application and related projects expressly authorized in writing by the Nocturne development team (the "Authorized Projects").

2. Restrictions
(a) Unauthorized Distribution. The API Software, any derivative works thereof, and any software that includes, incorporates, derives from, or has at any time included, incorporated, or derived from code that connects to or references the API software or associated services (the "Dependent Software") may not be distributed, sublicensed, or otherwise made available to the public unless expressly authorized in writing by the Nocturne development team.  
(b) Unauthorized Integration. The API Software and any Dependent Software may not be incorporated into, combined with, or integrated into any project or application that is not an Authorized Project.  
(c) Removal of API References. Removal, replacement, or modification of calls to the API Software in any Dependent Software shall not exempt such Dependent Software from the restrictions of this License.  

3. Retroactive Application
These restrictions apply to all versions of the API Software, past, present, and future, and to all Dependent Software that has, at any point in its development history, included or referenced the API Software or associated services.

4. Termination
Any use of the API Software or Dependent Software in violation of this License immediately terminates all rights granted herein. Upon termination, all copies and derivative works must be destroyed, and all access to the hosted Nocturne API services shall be revoked.

5. Reservation of Rights
All rights not expressly granted under this License are reserved by the copyright holder. No rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

6. No Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision of this License shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

This License is separate from and in addition to any open-source license that may apply to related Nocturne/Vanta Labs software repositories. Compliance with other open-source licenses does not relieve any party from the obligations of this License.
