Thanks for this nice sugar on top of an ugly Firebase API :)
We found a few decoding issues, some nil cases where not properly considered. This PR fixes that (for us, there might be more cases). It is a bit noisy, my linter updated some code style ... hope you don't mind, but I can polish.
