If you are looking for materials to help you learn the Java programming language, a good free resource is this collection of YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7E8B7F4856C9B19 Note that there are many videos to watch here, you do not need to watch all of these to be able to work on a robot. At a minimum you would probably watch just the first 19 videos for a good beginner-level understanding of Java.
