Chrome extension for mindful browsing: Slow down addictive websites to reduce impulsive scrolling and doomscrolling.

Features

Using the Extension

1. Install and open the popup from the Chrome toolbar
2. Toggle SlowScroll on
3. Add sites you want slowed (one per line)
4. Choose delay duration (1–60 seconds)
5. Browse normally — delays trigger automatically

Behavior

• Every navigation on a targeted site is delayed
• After the countdown, the destination loads as normal
• Works on links, search, profile navigation, and internal routing

Browser Compatibility

• Chrome 88+ (Windows, macOS, Linux)
• Other Chromium browsers (Brave, Edge, Arc, etc.)

Privacy

SlowScroll does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
All settings are stored locally using Chrome’s storage APIs.
No analytics, tracking scripts, or network calls.

Notes & Limitations

1. SPA Reloads — Single-page apps reload fully during delays (intentional)
2. Exact Domains — Domain matching is explicit; subdomains are handled automatically
3. No Scroll Throttle (Yet) — Current version only slows navigation, not feed scrolling
