Description

There are ~100,000 wedding photographers and videographers in the U.S. Most are solo small business owners. Many struggle to find reliable, consistent support such as 2nd shooters, assistants, and editors. Flash Gig solves this problem. Flash Gig is an that helps wedding photographers and videographers connect with creative talent for short-term gigs. Flash Gig was created by Steve Savstrom as a solo project for the Full Stack Software Engineering program at Prime Digital Academy.

  • Users can posts jobs that they need assistance with.
  • Search for jobs they are interested in working.
  • Apply for jobs they are interested in working.
  • Review and confirm applicants.
  • Earn more money for their business!

Technologies Used and Prerequisites

Installation

  1. Create a SQL database named wedding (see database.sql for setup instructions.)
  2. Open your text editor and run npm install in Terminal.
  3. Run npm run server in Terminal.
  4. Run npm run client in another Terminal to view React application.

Flash Gig is an application that helps wedding photographers and videographers connect with second shooters, editors, and assistants for short-term gigs. Flash Gig was created using React, Redux, Saga, Node.js Express, PostgreSQL, Material-UI, and Google Maps API.
