Welcome to the Cue-View wiki!

This wiki provides a guide for troubleshooting and setting up Cue View. It's designed for those who might be new to Github as well as those looking for some guidance about setting up Cue View for the first time.

This wiki is still heavily in development. More contributions are welcome.

Installing

Cue View is available for MacOS, Windows and Linux. Follow these steps to download it.

  1. Visit the Release page on GitHub
  2. Navigate to the Assets section of the latest release, and select the file for your operating system.
  3. Once your file has downloaded you can install it like any other program on your computer. A screenshot of the Releases Page of Cue View

Setting Up Cue View

When you launch Cue View for the first time, you have a couple of options set up. You can set up your devices by scanning or manually entering device details.

Scanning

To scan for devices on your network, you can follow a few simple steps.

  1. Ensure your device is attached to the network you wish to scan. To double check navigate to View -> Network Information in your menu bar.
  2. A network information window will appear, looking like the image below. It should display all the networks your machine is attached to, as well as the IP ranges Cue View can search.

  1. If you don't see the network you expect, you will need to troubleshoot your network settings and network connections. Once you have connected, return to Cue View and press Refresh on the Network Information window.
  2. If you can see all the networks you expect, close the Network Information window.
  3. Navigate to Device –> Search for Devices in the menu bar.
  4. Cue View will now populate with all the networked devices on your show!

Manual Set Up

As an alternative to searching your network you can also set up specific devices one-by-one within Cue View. This is particularly useful if you have a large and complex network, or if you only wish to display specific devices. Manual set up is different for each device type. However, the initial steps are all the same.

  1. From the Sidebar select the New Device Button, which looks like a +. If you can't see your Sidebar on the lefthand side, simply toggle it on. To toggle it on, go to your menu bar and select View -> Toggle Sidebar.
  2. A list will display of different device types. Select the device type you are looking for. You can see a list of currently supported devices in the Readme file on GitHub –>
  3. From the Info Pallet in the Sidebar you will now be able to input key information including:
    • Name – The nickname to use for this device in Cue View.
    • Type – Using this dropdown menu you can simply change the device type at any time.
    • Addr – The IP Address of the device you are adding.
    • Port – The Port to listen to.
    • Pin – Whether the device should always be visible in Cue View.

Having entered the key information you are ready to go! When you select a new device type, you will see information about how to set up that device in the Device View. These instructions will be different for each device type, and you may need to adjust them as the software on your devices is updated.
