Hey @jenilcodes25, thanks for reaching out!

This is pretty deep in the core, and is something we've given a bit of thought to over the years. Our current opinion is that this is probably best handled at the platform layers rather than in the core, since that's what is 1) explicitly driving the core state progression, and 2) is likely to have a notion of "paused" that's somewhat dependent on application behavior.

If you've got some other ideas though, I'd welcome them in an RFD first so we can discuss and come to a consensus!

@ianthetechie Thanks for the clarification! That makes sense—handling this at the platform layer seems more appropriate given the application-specific nature of “paused.” I’ll draft an RFD to explore this further. Appreciate the guidance!
