Spongy Castle is a drop-in replacement to Bouncy Castle, used mostly in Android projects (due to the deficiencies of built-in Bouncy Castle on Android). Even though jna-gmp is not itself Android-oriented, but the projects which have a common source base between the desktop and the Android may prefer to use Spongy Castle; in this case, having the high-performance implementation of RSA would be benificial.
