Thanks for the PR, but this isn't quite what we're looking for. Rather than adding to the docs the reasoning that explains why they're wrong at the moment, we need to update them to be correct.

Thanks for the clarification — I think I understand the feedback now.
I’ll revise this section to focus on documenting the correct and recommended shutdown configuration, rather than explaining why the current setup is unsafe, and submit an updated revision shortly.
