Where Does RTS2 Store Images On Scopenet
Prior to 2020410, images were stored in a parallel directory structure to the mountain-top machine.
Since that time, however, a new directory structure has been put in place. For the time being, the
old directory structure has been preserved in /data1/artn/rts2images.original. A complete description of
the changes made are recorded in /data1/artn/00README.1st and the script to effect the changes is
in /data1/artn/create_new_data_directories.sh (for posterity). The new directory structure root is
/rts2data which is a link to /data2/rts2data.
The following diagram shows the old and new directory structures:
Directories for new dates are generated each day at noon by a cron-job. Note that, as of writing, the older directories are still created (as well as the new) until a new rsync between the mountain-top and scopenet computers is created.
