Generating / Updating TOCs

At the time of writing Github does not directly support TOC generation. An easy way to generate/update TOCs in wiki pages is to use doctoc.

Steps

  1. Install npm (see section 'installing npm' on this page)
  2. Follow the instructions on doctoc wiki to install doctoc
  3. Update the TOC on all .md files, e.g. by running doctoc /path/to/file/or/root/directory --notitle. The --notitle flag is optional and removes unnecessary TOC header and link to doctoc.
