Search in FreeEed UI

Open your FreeEed UI application and login. Create your cases if you are still not, and then go to the "Search" page. You can search for:

1.) Words

  • You can type simple words like "John" or "Smith". By default, the application will search into fields like: Subject, Body, From, To, custodian, etc.

2.) Use the Lucene query syntax

  • The query syntax is: field:value, e.g. Custodian:John
  • The fields that you could use can be seen in the document preview on the right
  • You can create complex queries adding AND and OR.
  • You can search for date intervals like: Creation-Date:[2000-01-01 TO 2001-01-01]
  • E.g. to find custodian John with emails from 2000-01-01 to 2002-01-01, you should use Creation-Date:[2000-01-01 TO 2002-01-01] AND Custodian:John
  • Visit this page to learn how to create more complex search queries.
