Since version 2.5.0, the extension retrieves information about TYPO3 versions from TYPO3's official API at get.typo3.org. Based on the data, the output of the extension contains details about insecure TYPO3 versions.

The data is cached for a configurable time (defaut: 14400 seconds). The function can be disabled in the extension configuration.
