An app to update to the latest version of Signal Private Messenger for Android. SigFree Updater checks for the latest website distribution build available on signal.org and enables you to install it automatically.
Links below to download official Signal Private Messenger APK. This repository became void when CopperheadOS created a fork Signal called Noise. They then created an F-Droid repository that you can officially update roms to the latest version of Noise (aka Signal) for non-Google Play devices.
The CopperheadOS F-Droid repository for reference:
- Repository URL: https://fdroid.copperhead.co/repo
- Repository fingerprint: F0D4EB1193AD82FEB224BD1174B6FBD89A39D8ED988C9FFF2ADD0DCD1C4E271B
Note: It’s only intended to be useful to CopperheadOS users. Nothing from there is guaranteed to work elsewhere and issues on other operating systems should not be reported.
Open Whisper Systems publishes updates on their website when they become available on Google Play. This means that roms that don't use Google Play services don't have access to the Google Play Store to be able to download the APK. When a user wants to have these updates, the regular method is downloading the Signal-website-release-x.x.x.apk file from the website and installing it manually. SigFree Updater does that automatically.
