Typing without text field

• We don't always type in a text field.
• Some custom elements can be tapped on to bring up a keyboard, but still don't have a defined element to type in.
• This patch allows us to type without passing the textfield for the typing to go to.
• Note that in this case you'll have to make sure to "tap" on the element in your UI that enables the textfield.
