Once you've used the turtle's built-in "excavate" program, you have a hole in front of you, typically very deep if you had enough fuel. Which would be a great opportunity to access the valuable lower reaches, but difficult and dangerous to climb down.

Now you can have your robot place torches and ladders down the pit, while walling-up any cave-gaps as it needs to along the way. If you haven't provided enough material or fuel it will inform you how much more of what is needed.

Optionally it can go up instead. See more usage and options by running the program without arguments.

I have tested the program every way I think of, so I believe it's ready for common use.
