Overview

Initial public release of the Bibliography Verification Tool v1.0.0. For Zenodo as well.

This version provides a production-ready pipeline for verifying APA-style bibliographies against CrossRef and PubMed, including fuzzy title matching, author and year consistency checks, and multi-format outputs for both human review and statistical analysis.

• Journal article, book, classic/translation, and ancient-text handling
• Type-specific fuzzy title matching (0.85 for journal articles; 0.75 for books)
• Automated DOI retrieval via CrossRef and PubMed
• Unicode normalization for international / accented author names
• Year matching with ±2-year tolerance
• Detection of “Original work published …” for classics
• Outputs:
  • verification_report.csv (full results)
  • verification_log.txt (human-readable summary)
  • verification_for_R.csv (R-ready)
  • extraction_failures.txt (pattern debugging)
