Recent Research Experience

Project Associate, DREAM:Lab, IISc Bangalore

  • Worked on the development of Flotilla, an asynchronous federated learning framework designed for edge deployments
  • Implemented server-client architecture using MQTT and gRPC for efficient communication and control
  • Built a Redis-based state store with checkpointing to ensure system resilience and recovery from full failures
  • Integrated customizable client selection and aggregation strategies to support various FL workloads
  • Collaborated with PhD students and researchers under Prof. Manik Gupta (BITS Pilani) and Prof. Yogesh Simmhan (IISc)
  • Managed an 80+ node edge cluster (NVIDIA Jetsons, Raspberry Pis) to support research and experimentation
  • Contributed to Flotilla’s Docker-based distributed deployment with 1000+ clients for scalability evaluations
  • Assisted in manuscript writing, experimental design, and analysis for accepted publications
