Hey @arne-cl,
Thanks, this looks good so far. It will still require changes to https://github.com/pelias/geonames/blob/master/bin/downloadData.js.
It might make sense to create a new module, maybe a file in lib to handle parsing the country codes, that can be shared across bin/downloadData.js and import.js.
