Locations manager

paxetgloria edited this page Feb 25, 2018 · 13 revisions

Locations manager allows user to import a fraction of terrain(its mesh, texture and surface mask) into a project. User is allowed to import as many locations as it's required, but few rules have to be followed.

Remember that terrain data of each location(mainly its mesh data) is being saved to a project file so it may grow large having a lot locations imported within a project. The size of terrain data depends mainly on source heightmap resolution.

An open eye icon(not selected location) tells what location is currently the active location. Only one location may be set as an active location at the time. Once user has more than one location imported it's possible to switch among them by clicking on closed eye icon.

Import

User is allowed(button enabled) to import a location if, a valid Terrain Heightmap has been defined, at least. After pressing Import button 3D viewport window automatically changes to a 2D map which allows user to pick up a required location. 2D

Content of 2D map may vary based on source data provided. In case more than one data source is provided user can cycle through available 2D maps by pressing Backspace key.
