The reasons that I forked googlefonts/RobotoMono are:
- I like this font but its Italics don’t work on my favorite editor (Emacs); it’s some issue regarding the vendor string being inconsistent across the variants of the font, as far as I understand.
- This is something that Peter Gardfjäll has fixed on his PR but unfortunately it is still not merged yet.
- I ‘ll admit I hadn’t realized the
fonts/directory in both of these upstreams were statically compiled files of the font. But I wanted to merge & build it myself anyway. - I wanted to learn how building on Github works.
