This pull request introduces comprehensive improvements to support both Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) and Simplified Chinese (简体中文) throughout the YouTube video processing pipeline. The changes enhance user experience for different Chinese-speaking regions, update documentation, and refactor scripts for language flexibility and localization.

Localization and Language Support

  • Default target language is now set to Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) in .env.example, and all related scripts and documentation have been updated to reflect this. Users can now choose between Traditional and Simplified Chinese, with clear instructions and options provided. [1] [2] [3]

  • The translate_subtitles.py and generate_summary.py scripts have been refactored to generate output, instructions, and templates in the selected target language, including region-specific vocabulary and platform recommendations (e.g., YouTube/Facebook for Taiwan, 小红书/抖音 for Mainland China). [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Documentation Updates

  • The SKILL.md documentation now describes the new language selection step, details the translation strategies for both Chinese variants, and specifies how the summary and subtitles adapt to the user's language preference and regional platform. [1] [2] [3]

User Experience and CLI Improvements

  • Command-line interfaces for the scripts have been enhanced to accept the target language as an argument, with improved help messages and error handling, all localized to match the chosen language.

General Localization

  • All user-facing messages, instructions, and output templates in the scripts are now localized, improving clarity and usability for both Traditional and Simplified Chinese users. [1] [2] [3]

These changes collectively make the tool more accessible and regionally appropriate for users across different Chinese-speaking markets.
