based on PR #138 by @PINO works on 1.0 very minimal change and so far seems to work perfectly, does not disrupt other logic as the click-and-drop still triggers all the same checks as the drag-and-drop not the perfect solution, I would have preferred a solution where clicking on the source square highlights it instead of visually picking up the piece, but the resulting functionality is the same
