As I have now spent the time to understand what is expected to make rpm packaging that conforms to Fedora and EPEL expectation, the .spec shipped with the package is not representing the most recent or complete effort towards making rpm packages. It is better for people wanting to build their own rpms to grab the copr .src.rpms
