Welcome to our group's WTH Project: Healing Spoon
It is estimated that 387,000 Singaporeans cannot meet basic needs in the form of food, shelter, clothing and other essentials. On the other hand, virtually all Singaporeans have access to a smartphone.* How can technology be used to distribute resources effectively to these marginalised groups?
*Singapore had a mobile subscription penetration rate of 169% in 2022
We have two ESPs, one serving the Home and one serving the Healing Spoon's Robot.
For the Home ESP, we have 3 main functions
- Supply Restock
- Emergency
- Customer Support
The Robot ESP is equipped with IR capabilities for obstacle detection and RFID for user validity.
We aim to utilize robots to deliver items to our target audience: Elderly who stay alone and do not have the means to purchase daily necessities on their own.
