This project features an interactive Tableau dashboard created to analyze the electric vehicle (EV) population in the United States. The dashboard visualizes key trends and metrics, providing insights into EV adoption, vehicle types, and manufacturer popularity.
The dashboard, titled "Electric Vehicle Data Analysis," provides a comprehensive view of the EV landscape through several key visualizations and filters:
- Total Vehicles & Key Metrics: Key performance indicators (KPIs) showing the total number of electric vehicles, average electric range, and a breakdown of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs).
- Total Vehicles by Model Year: Bar chart illustrating EV population growth over time, sorted by model year.
- Total Vehicles by State: Choropleth map of the US showing EV registrations by state.
- Top 15 Total Vehicles by Make: Table and bar chart highlighting the most popular EV manufacturers.
- Total Vehicles by Model: Detailed breakdown of the EV population by model.
- Total Vehicles by CAFv Eligibility: Donut chart showing the proportion of vehicles eligible for the Clean Alternative Fuel Vehicle (CAFv) program.
The data used for this analysis is sourced from a publicly available dataset on data.gov:
- Dataset Name: Electric Vehicle Population Data
- URL: https://catalog.data.gov/dataset/electric-vehicle-population-data
The dashboard is fully interactive. Use the filters on the left-hand side to explore the data:
- CAFv Eligibility: Filter vehicles by eligibility for the Clean Alternative Fuel Vehicle program.
- EV Type: Narrow down to only BEVs or PHEVs.
- Model & State: Drill down into specific models or states to see localized trends.
- Tableau Public / Tableau Desktop
