3.3-RC2 [20260427]

  • CODE CHANGES:
    • Changed some of the flag creation logic. There should be fewer animated-looking flags now
    • Added AC/DC split for Electric badges
    • Automated language creation
    • Added roles and region badges
    • Added support for Driving Cabs (sometimes referred to as DC or DT, just to keep things confusing) via new template TPL_04S
    • Added random flip to coaches that are non-DT
    • Fixed template TPL_17B (Sharknose etc with A/B units) not being articulated. This was a legacy bug.
  • VEHICLES CHANGES:
    • Added Hessian Ludwig Rlw Thomas using Victorian Railways Rowan Railmotor graphics but different/relevant specs
    • Added NÖLB 30-33 using NÖLB 1 graphics but different/relevant specs
    • Changed Harbour Board EL 0-4-0 'Little Bess' properties to be lighter
    • Added Mozambique Railways No. 101 to 104 (Steam) using modified 4-4-0 'American' graphics and different/relevant specs
    • Added Haine-Saint-Pierre Golwé (Steam) - it's a bit of a mix of graphics, don't complain. It seems to work.
    • Added Ghana Rwy Corp Class TT12 (Diesel) using the EMD G22W somewhat modified graphics, again, don't complain, do a better one if you can. Otherwise works.
    • Undid the "powered requiring electricity" logic introduced in 3.3 RC1
    • Added Alsthom BB-BB (Diesel) using modified Alsthom AD30B graphics.
    • Added Sorefame DE8 (Diesel) also using modified Alsthom AD30B graphics.
    • Added GMD GT22LC-2 (Diesel) using modified Korail 6000 EMD SD18 graphics.
    • Added Hyundai Rotem/Skoda TRC E6800 (Electric) using modified CSD 380 graphics.
    • Cloned Brooklyn Union Gate Car from Single-Metro to normal Metro - there was a 1300 series, which was the Single-Metro and an Elevated, which was the "normal".
    • Added "Trans Euro Night" Sleeper and "CityNightLine" Sleeper ref #4
    • Changed some coaches to be DT-compatible #5
    • Added/Extracted a livestock only set of wagons, now separate from Boxcars.
    • Added MAV Class V63 using an obscure mix of V43 and FF1 as template and then a lot of tweaks.
    • Checked all the lengths for every vehicle and amended many. That said some DMU/EMUs are still a pixel off but I didn't change all.

3.3-RC1 [20260412]

  • CODE CHANGES:
    • Added template TPL_03G (12-len steam w tender)
    • Fix "Driving State S4" logic not working correctly
  • VEHICLES CHANGES:
    • Reclassified USA_UP_4000_Big_Boy as template TPL_03G
    • Added JR Freight M250 (basically a CargoEMU)
    • Moved all "powered" generic coaches to be actually electric. They can't run on non-electrified tracks anymore.
    • Indian and Russian coaches have been moved to broad-gauge only. Eventually I will do something about the chaos in the coach-dept but for now it's as-is.
    • Re-validated all the vehicles in the set. In practice this means that when I was able to find a Wikipedia article, I took information from there, otherwise I asked Gemini (yes I use AI, such is life.). In some cases, espc wrt TE/Coefficient in steam powered vehicles, as well as the weight of them may not fully line up with the old values; this partially has to do with the fact that I think originally the loco weights were loco-only whereas now they are loco+tender where applicable. I also reworked the pax capacity where applicable. The speeds of steam engines have been oftentimes reduced from top speeds to sustainable service speeds with some extra overhead so that they don't feel too slow either (in fact some have been increased because they had been defined as slow as 15kmh [10mph], which was useless as well as unlikely).
      • For metros and xMUs the following logic now applies: in Excel the TE-C has been halved. If taking a real life example of the Moscow 81-720 the legacy set had 0.69 TE-C, from which the game calculated a TE of some 440kN or so, which is unrealistic, even if we use powered cars. Half of that is realistic though.

3.3-beta2 [20260403]

  • CODE CHANGES:
    • Badges! #1 -- need testing ofc but tentatively works.
  • VEHICLES CHANGES:
    • Added Alsthom AD30B (Standard/Diesel)
    • Added Katanga Mikado 2-8-2 (Narrow/Steam)
    • Reclassified FS ALn 668 as template TPL_01B
    • Ref items raised in #3:
      • Steam locomotive named China Railways H does not exist, it's actually a Russian class Kh assigned to the Chinese Eastern Railway so it should be renamed Chinese Eastern Railway Kh
      • Queensland Rail 400 does not exist, it's actually a South Australian Railways 400 'Redhen' so it should be renamed
      • The flags for Eritrea is upside down in the two purchase info, it should look like this: (you can use that one I made it myself, just CC-BY me)
      • The ONCFM ZAB1000 should just be named ONCF ZAB1000 (because all the other ONCF trains just have ONCF designation, there is no point in having the "M" at the end).
      • The South West African 2-8-0 is assigned to Angola, but it was actually a Namibian train: flag here (CC-BY me)
      • German trains are all over the place, some of them have the old designation, some of them the new one with the old one as the "nickname". I'd suggest using the designation at the time they were delivered to keep consistent with the rest, which entails to:
        • Renaming the DB 19.0 "Saxon XX HV" to simply Saxon XX HV
        • Renaming the DB 99.51-60 "Saxon IV K" to simply Saxon IV K
      • South African trains don't have the proper operator:
      • The SAR 20E have been made after the restructuring of South African Railways into Transnet, and it's nicknamed "China Doll" so it should be renamed TFR 20E 'China Doll'
      • The SAR Afro 4000 is similarly operated by PRASA, so should be named PRASA Afro 4000
      • The SAR E38 is similarly operated by Amcoal, so should be named Amcoal E38.
      • SAR 25 is nicknamed 'Condenser' so it should be renamed SAR 25 'Condenser'
      • The Camrail ZE 500 (which is an export version of CP 9600) has incorrect properties: power should be 281 kW / 376 hp, and tractive effort coefficient should be 0.12.
      • The EFE Buscarril has serial number SB-56 so it should be renamed EFE SB-56 'Buscarril'
      • South African trains have properties that don't match their real counterparts:
      • The SAR 5M2 EMU have a head capacity of 56, not 52 (the wagons still have a capacity of 52); their introduction year is 1958, not 1954; their tractive effort coefficient is 0.27, not 0.26; and their power is 2480hp not 1240hp (since each motor coach has 1240hp)
      • The SAR 20E have a power of 4000hp, not 4155hp, and a tractive effort coefficient of 0.38, not 0.45.
      • The SAR 5E1 (with a date of 1965 it would be a Series 4) has a power of 1953hp, not 1456hp, and a tractive effort coefficient of 0.15, not 0.29.
      • The SAR 6E has a power of 3020hp, not 3300hp, a speed of 113km/h, not 115km/h, a tractive effort coefficient of 0.22, not 0.36.
      • The SAR 7E has a tractive effort coefficient of 0.25 not 0.24.
      • The SAR ES has a power of 1202hp not 1200hp, and a tractive effort coefficient of 0.11 not 0.26.
      • The CSAR railmotor has a weight of 48t not 35t and a tractive effort coefficient of 0.08 not 0.33.

3.3-alpha1 [20260327]

  • CODE CHANGES:
    • Added a py script to export all vehicle info on make running.
    • Separated out the various railtypes and voltages. This is very "beta" at the moment.

    • Automated the 'property' file creation via Excel/Python
    • Automated the 'item' file creation and integrated the 'property' details into that.
      • Automated the puchase costs and running costs calcs. I've done several spot checks and apart from rounding differences, they all checked out.
  • VEHICLES CHANGES:
    • Reiterating from above, separated out the various railtypes and voltages.
    • Turned the visual for DMUs to DIESEL (was DISABLE)
