Motivations for Rewrite:

  • Want to remove dependency on apple-private-apis to make contributing easier and to re license to MIT
  • Want to switch away from zsign to support multiple profiles, entitlements, speed up build times/binary sizes, and improve reliability
  • Codebase has a lot of tech debt and is quite messy
  • Want to improve support for LiveContainer
  • Want to improve error handling
  • Want to clean up the dependency tree (old isideload had multiple versions of several crates, had several ssl stacks, etc)
