Founded in 2008, TerraVolt is a global e-commerce company specializing in bicycles, components, and cycling apparel. Like most e-commerce companies, TerraVolt sells products through its online store and mobile app, leveraging multiple marketing channels such as email campaigns, social media, and affiliate programs. Its top-selling items include high-end bicycles, cycling apparel, and replacement components. The company’s data was scattered across multiple operational systems, including orders, order statuses, customer information, product catalogs, and geographic data. To address this, we designed and implemented a centralized SQL Data Warehouse that consolidates disparate datasets into a single source of truth. The warehouse supports ETL pipelines, ensures data integrity, and serves as the foundation for a robust Business Intelligence layer. Through Exploratory Data Analysis, KPI monitoring, and interactive dashboards, we provided actionable insights on customer behavior, product performance, and sales trends, enabling data-driven decision-making and strategic planning across the enterprise.

Located in Cape Town, South Africa, Daily Grind is a boutique coffee shop renowned for its artisanal coffee blends and personalized customer experience. Its top offerings include specialty coffee blends, pastries, and seasonal beverages. The company faced challenges in translating its daily sales transactions and product-level data collected over the past 18 months into actionable insights to optimize inventory, staffing, and promotions. Using Tableau, we conducted time series analyses at hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly granularities and performed product performance evaluations with bar charts, line charts, and KPI dashboards. These interactive visualizations revealed peak sales periods, seasonal trends, and top-selling items, enabling data-driven decisions that improved operational efficiency, revenue, and the customer experience.
