Information about this fork

This fork has been made in order to have native python3.6 compatibility without installing the package. As source repo does not move much, I will contribute as modifications are needed to this code. I do not own BT-manager PyPI repo, so modifications will be pushed upstream if asked by original maintainers

A library for managing bluetooth devices using Python, Bluez and DBus.

Debian installation

With python 3.6

# needed for python-dbus
sudo apt-get install build-essential checkinstall libdbus-1-dev libdbus-glib-1-dev

mkvirtualenv BTManager
pip install cffi python-dbus

Compile codecs and install as debian package

TODO : modify dir name to bt_manager_codecs for better package naming

cd ./codecs
make
sudo checkinstall

Installation

Installing the RTP/SBC codec (this must be done first):

sudo make -C codecs install

Note: the default platform is x86 (mmx). To build for a different platform e.g., armv6 then run sudo make -C codecs install PLATFORM=armv6 instead.

Install the python library by running:

pip install BT-Manager
